ABOUT

Description:

Visit Central Florida is the tourism bureau for Polk County, Florida which is located between Orlando and Tampa. The area provides a multitude of outdoor activities including fishing, hunting, hiking, wildlife viewing, birding and eco-tourism. Titled the "Largemouth Bass Capital of the World" Polk County is home to 554 lakes, many highly ranked for the quality and quantity of trophy class largemouth bass caught in our waters. Central Florida is also a top destination for the prized Osceola Turkey, deer, wild hogs, alligator and waterfowl. Many of our preserves and natural areas are widely acclaimed and provide perfect opportunities for wildlife viewing in a natural "authentic Florida" setting.
