Outdoor Writers Association of America encourages outdoor communicators to submit applications for the 2015 John Madson Fellowship. Applications must be sent to the OWAA headquarters, postmarked no later than March 2, 2015.

Outdoor Writers Association of America is once again hosting the Norm Strung Youth Writing Awards contests. The 2015 contests allows promising young writers and poets to showcase their skills and win cash prizes totaling $1,700, thanks to the support and sponsorship of Safari Club International Foundation.

Winning photographs from the 2014 Excellence in Craft Contests awarded by the Outdoor Writers Association of America are available for display throughout the spring. The exhibit has appeared at a variety of venues throughout the years, including sportsmen’s shows, conferences, museums and schools.

The “receive by” deadline is fast approaching. Entries for the 2015 Excellence in Craft Book Contest are due to OWAA headquarters by Monday, Dec. 1, 2014.

OWAA recommends that the directive specifically exempt professional journalists … OWAA also recommended adding two definitions to the language ….
