OWAA holds youth writing contest with cash prizes

MISSOULA, Mont. – Outdoor Writers Association of America is once again hosting the Norm Strung Youth Writing Contest for 2012. The contest allows promising young writers and poets to showcase their skills and win cash prizes totaling $1,700, thanks to the support and sponsorship of Safari Club International Foundation.

The contest features categories in poetry or prose and awards prizes in two divisions. The Junior Division is open to writer in grades 6-8 and the Senior Division is open to writers in grades 9-12. All entries must also have an outdoor theme.

All entries must be published or accepted for publication in a newsletter, newspaper, magazine, literary collection, etc. during the 2011 calendar year.
