Outdoor journalism conference free for college students
MISSOULA, Mont. – Outdoor Writers Association of America (OWAA) is offering free registration for students who wish to attend the July 9-11, 2011, OWAA conference in Salt Lake City, Utah. There are a limited number of three-day and one-day passes available for college students to attend conference.
Registration passes include scheduled meals and all conference sessions and activities. This does not include transportation or housing.
The 2011 conference will include craft improvement sessions on a variety of outdoor communication topics including magazine and newspaper writing, videography, photography and radio, as well as news panels. Attendees will meet and network with working outdoor media experts. Half-day Shooting and Demo Day events allow for product testing and industry networking.

Please include student’s name, phone number, postal address, desired days of attendance and a paragraph about why they would like to attend the OWAA conference. If a student is not a current OWAA student member, proof of enrollment at an institution of higher learning will also be required. The 1,200 member Outdoor Writers Association America is the oldest and largest association of professional outdoor communicators in the United States. It was organized in 1927 by members of the Izaak Walton League of America and includes professional communicators dedicated to sharing the outdoor experience.
