Marty Malin wins TOWA’s L.A. Wilke Award

Marty Malin of Laredo was named the 2017 recipient of the coveted L.A. Wilke Award, the highest honor given by the Texas Outdoor Writers Association. Malin accepted the award Feb. 25 during the association’s annual conference at the La Torretta Lake Resort on Lake Conroe.

The L.A. Wilke Award is given to members who have served TOWA and their profession with honor and distinction. This is the 59th TOWA conference, attended by communication professionals who promote hunting, fishing, other outdoor recreational activities and conservation through radio, television, newspapers, magazines, art and the internet.

Malin is a past president of TOWA and also served as president of the Outdoor Writers Association of America. He is an accomplished storyteller who continues to entertain audiences through media that includes writing, video, audio and public speaking.
